A Very Merry Tag

Hello, lovely readers!
It's finals week.
Why am I writing a blog post?
It's finals week!!!
Well.
Actually, finals aren't too bad for me...only one is cumulative, I've finished one, one is going to be pretty okay, and the other is an English paper...easy. ;)

A Very Merry Tag

Does it snow where you live around Christmas? (If it doesn't, you have my sincere sympathy.) How much? Any special snowy Christmas stories?
-*Sigh* No. No snow for Christmas. I can remember once having snow for Christmas...several years ago. Hold on, Anne has a good quote about "green Christmases"...or maybe it was Pat, but I think it was Anne...(readers roll their eyes at Rae's always finding some way to tie L. M. Montgomery in as Rae tries to find the quote) *Rae returns, sighing some more*
'Twas Phillipa Gordon...in Anne of the Island. I was close. Anyway, here is the quote:
"I was so afraid we’d have a green Christmas and I loathe them. You know, when Christmas is a dirty grayey-browney affair, looking as if it had been left over a hundred years ago and had been in soak ever since, it is called a GREEN Christmas! Don’t ask me why. As Lord Dundreary says, ‘there are thome thingth no fellow can underthtand.’"
Of course, Phil got her white Christmas...but I have had a "green Christmas" for the past several years.

Do you get a real tree or a fake tree?
-Fake...due largely to my mother. We did have a real tree one year though...

What is your favorite Christmas movie?
-Mr. Kreuger's Christmas...Anna and Cordy? ;)

Where in the world would you like to spend Christmas the most?
-Well...I GET MY WISH THIS YEAR! Probably. To be imprecise, with my best friend.

What fictional/literary character would you most like to spend Christmas with?
-I'm going to go with Emma and Mr. Knightley and Mr. John Knightley and Mr. Weston and Mrs. Weston...Umm...You know that Christmas in Emma when Isabella and John and their family come visit? Yeah.
(Pretty sure this scene is during that visit somewhere...Mr. Knightley has baby Emma...)

What is your favorite Christmas song?
-Favourite? I have to pick one? Ummm...I love O Come, O Come, Emmanuel.

What is your favorite Christmas book/story (besides, ya know, the story)?
-Abbbyyyyyyy...Your questions are too hard. ;)
I adore the Christmas scenes in Little Women (the book). The first Christmas where they take their breakfast to the Hummels and Mr. Laurence gives them breakfast, and the Christmas where their father comes home. I love those.

Which do you prefer: multi-colored lights or white lights?
-I'll agree with all the other answers to this that I've seen...white.

What time period/decade would you most like to spend Christmas in?
-I'm pretty sure someone already said this, can't quite remember who...
Victorian or the 1950's. Christmas from those eras seems divine. Especially the dresses!!!

Which period drama has the best Christmas scene/episode?
-Ooooohhhhh....Hmmm...Well, I think I'll go with all of An Avonlea Christmas. (Haha, can I pick an entire movie? If not...) Especially the ending. Makes my cry...and I don't cry over movies.
(Yeah, so Kevin Sullivan made it all up and everything...but he didn't name it after a Montgomery book and yes, he stole the characters' names from The Story Girl and The Golden Road but I can manage not to think about it... :)

Well. I have successfully procrastinated editing my English final paper for a good 20 minutes (and that's just doing this...I've already texted my friend, browsed Pinterest, etc.)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
Here's a lovely quote about what Christmas is all about:
Isn't that beautiful?

And OH, MY BLOGIVERSARY WAS THREE DAYS AGO AND I TOTALLY MISSED IT BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS THE 14TH. SHAME ON ME.
So...no One Year Blogiversary post!!! I'm so disappointed in myself!!! I fully intended to do one!!!
Rae, Rae, Rae.
*Rae shakes her head and "tsk"s*

We shall see about doing a belated one...but it's not likely. I'll just tie it in here...:
SO WISH ME A HAPPY BELATED BLOGIVERSARY, FRIENDS. I'VE BEEN BLOGGING FOR (over) ONE YEAR!!!
(And I still haven't learned Naomi's valuable lesson about using too many capital letters...*shakes head again*)
YAY!!!
It's been a wonderful year. I'm so glad to have met all of you, etc., etc.... :)

Well. A few more minutes of procrastination.

Have a WONDERFUL Christmas/holiday season!!!

Guess Whose Birthday It Is?!!!!

Ladies (and gentlemen), LADIES (and gentleman), GUESS WHOSE BIRTHDAY IT IS?

IT IS L. M. MONTGOMERY'S BIRTHDAY

!!!!

Of course I have to wish this absolutely incredible authouress a happy would-be 142nd birthday.
Of course.

Last year I had the brilliant idea to make a dinner like the one Anne made for Charlotte E. Morgan in Anne of Avonlea (which turned out dreadfully, in case you're wondering), but this year, a blog post will suffice because I've been at school all day.
So.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MAUD!!!!!!
You're my absolute favourite authouress (and I spell things the way you do, which Blogger doesn't like), and your books are works of pure beauty. I adore them. And therefore you.
Happy birthday.

Another Period Drama Tag

Hello lovely people! I'm afraid I have been long absent from my blog; it has been another three weeks since I last posted. My apologies. I have been rather busy with school and life. Also I have been rather lacking in inspiration, and so I was thrilled when Rachel tagged me, but it has taken me a week-and-a-half since she tagged me to get around to it. 😩 (Note: these emoticons are new, and I haven't just missed them for the past 11 months...right? :)

Anyway...perhaps we should get on to the tag now.

1. What's your favourite Period Drama movie?
-Pride and Prejudice 1995. I wonder if anyone reads my blog and doesn't know this yet! Haha.

2. What's your favourite Period Drama series?
-Okay, so can someone explain to me the differences between movies, series, and mini-series?

3. Which Period Drama do you dislike the most?

4. Anne of Green Gables or Little Dorrit?
-How do I say this without shocking my audience?

5. Your favourite Period Drama dresses?
-Oooh, that's a fun question. Here come some pictures.

6. Who's your favourite Period Drama character? (Okay, pick at least five)
-This is so hard. Let's see...I'm going with favourite main character heroines, okay? 😊
Elizabeth Bennet, Amy Dorrit, Elinor Dashwood, Margaret Hale, and Emma Woodhouse.
I think. I could easily change my mind at any time! :)

7. If you could join a royal ball, which dress would you go in? (Pick a Period Drama dress)
-Ooooohhh...So, I haven't actually seen The Young Victoria, but I LOVE this dress.

8. What's your favourite Jane Austen movie?
-Pride and Prejudice 1995. :)

9. Downton Abbey of Call the Midwife?
-I haven't actually seen either one.
Come, now, don't gasp so loudly, everyone! I can hear you from here!

10. Sybil Crawley, Jenny Lee, Emma Woodhouse or Marian of Knighton?

11. Which couple of a Period Drama do you like the most? (Pick at least four)
-Oh, good, I can pick multiple couples!

"At least four."

12. At last, which Period Drama villain do you like the most?
-Oh, boy. Define villain. Define like. Hahaha. This is tough. Okay, I'll go with the Sheriff of Nottingham, with the understanding that "like" in this case means I like watching him and I find him amusing betimes. Also it was almost pathetic how predictable it always was when he lost--which was every time.
(Disclaimer: I have only seen the first 2 seasons of BBC Robin Hood.)

That was fun, Rachel, thank you so much for tagging me!!!

A random note:
I created a favourite blogs page. :)

The Q&A Tag + The Period Drama Tag

So...It's been a little while! School is so all-encompassing. But here I am, thanks to Cordy and Ruth tagging me, and bit of free time!

First, The Q&A Tag.
Rules:
Tag the blogger who nominated you.
Answer the questions you were given.
Nominate 10 other bloggers.
Write out your 10 questions.
Let them know they've been tagged.

Okay!
Thank you, Cordy!
Questions:
1.When you're worried and you can't sleep, what do you do?
-I pray. It helps.
2.What is your favorite spice associated with Autumn?
-Oooh, that's hard. Does pumpkin pie spice count? It has a bunch of different ones in it. :)
3. Do you know any great Thanksgiving songs?
-(Has anyone read Cranberry Thanksgiving and will therefore get it if I say "Sixteen Men on a Dead Man's Chest? :) To be serious, Come, Ye Thankful People is one of my favourites.
4. What was the last book you read and liked?
-Man, now I feel guilty for not having read much lately. The last book I finished (that I can remember) was Little Dorrit...and that was a little while ago.
5. Have you ever given yourself a theme song/s? Share one.
-Maybe When Will My Life Begin? from Tangled. Haha. :)
6. If you could be costumed appropriately as anyone you wanted, who would you be?
-Hmmm...I would say Elizabeth Bennet, but actually, I did dress up as her for Halloween last year. Another thing is, I would absolutely LOVE to someday have a dress with a hoopskirt (I love the one below!). Someday I shall!

7. What's a hobby you excel at? (Yup, give yourself a compliment, my friends.)
-I'll go with sewing. I'm pretty good at it!

8. What is your favorite holiday decoration that is a staple in your house?
-For Christmas, we always have a bunch of different Nativity sets, and it's my role to set them up. (We don't really decorate for other holidays.)
9. Do you sing out-loud, or hum? (You know, when you're housecleaning and the like.)
-It depends on if there's other people around! I'll often hum, even if there's other people (especially if it's somewhat noisy) but I'll only sing out-loud if there's no-one else around.

10. Do you have a favorite word? What is it?
-A favourite word? Really? Oh, I don't think I can come up with one...there are so many lovely words.

Ummm...Nominate 10 other bloggers? I don't know. I'm gonna skip that this time. Mostly because I don't feel like coming up with questions. :)

Now...

1. Which period drama do you like most?
-Pride and Prejudice 1995! It's the best movie ever.
(I'm pretty sure I did this last time I said P&P'95 is the best movie ever, but anyway...)
"Of course it is! I am in it, and I am so fortunate as to have the patronage of Lady Catherine DeBourgh!

2. Choose four characters from a period drama that you like most.
-Mr. Bennet, Mr. Knightley, Amy Dorrit, and Mrs. Bennet.
(I picked random ones that I liked, because of course it's impossible to choose four favourites. Also please understand that I like Mrs. Bennet in a different way. :)

3. Which period drama have you recently seen that you recommend to other bloggers?
-Robin Hood (BBC). Of course, I refused to watch past season 2 because the best characters stayed behind in season 2, so I did not see any point in finishing. (Details shall be left untold because of major spoiler reasons. :)

4. If you had to choose, which period drama heroine do you like best?
-Elizabeth Bennet can't be beat.

5. And which period drama hero?
-Oh, dear. Why is this harder? Let's go with Mr. Knightley.

6. Have you ever seen a movie who was exactly, or mostly, the same as the book?
-Yes. See my first answer. :) (Also, Emma 2009 is really close to the book as well.)

7. Which movies do you like most, Jane Austens movies(example:Emma), Dickens movies(example:Little Dorrit) or the movies from the Brontë sisters(example:Jane Eyre)?
-Jane Austen movies win. See my first answer and the previous answer. Well, really, just see my blog. I think you can tell what I think. :)

8. Would you rather play Emma in Emma, Lizzy in Pride and Prejudice, Catherine in Northanger Abbey, Mary in Downton Abbey, Marian in Robin Hood, Amy in Little Dorrit, or Jane in Jane Eyre?
-What kind of a question is this?! That's hard. However, I think it would be most fun to play Elizabeth Bennet. Or maybe Marian. Or maybe Emma. See? Don't ask me this!

9. Would you rather have Call the Midwife or Cranford?
-I haven't seen Call the Midwife, but I have seen Cranford, so I guess I'll go with that!

10. Which period drama that you haven't seen yet would you like to see?
-Ohhhh, I don't know...Any suggestions, anyone?
(Also: What is the best adaptation of Jane Eyre? Are any of them good? I've read the book twice but not dared watch any of the movie adaptations. If anyone has thoughts, please tell.)

11. Which adaption of Sense and Sensibility do you like most: 1995 or 2008?
-For a long time I wasn't sure, but I think 2008 wins because it's more accurate. However, neither is as perfect as it could be. :)

12. And which adaption of Pride and Prejudice do you like most: 1995 or 2005?
-I THINK EVERYONE KNOWS THE ANSWER TO THAT!!!
13. Which couple from a period drama movie do you like most?
-Which couple? Oh, dear...That's so hard. I'm going to say Molly and Roger. I don't know if they really are or not, but I love them to death.
(Yes, the're so sweet they deserve extra pictures. :)

Thank you so much, girls!

(Note: Check out the picture I made that won Sink Me!'s Pixar contest. (A lot of you probably follow that blog already, but if you don't, do it now.) :)
(Note: I probably won't do blogging very much more often than I have been lately. I'm too busy.)
I hope you all have a lovely day!

Anne of Green Gables: My Face When

Today, I present to you My Face When: Anne of Green Gables edition!!!
Since it is Anne of Green Gables Week, I decided this post was in order. So here we go.
(Note: A lot of these are GIFs from my Homeschool described in Anne of Green Gables GIFs post, which you should check out. :)

My Face When I'm comfortable in bed and I remember I haven't written in my journal (which I have committed to write in every day.)

My Face When I'm doing something and I look up to see my two-year-old (well, almost; his birthday is tomorrow) brother getting into mischief (e. g. putting something in his mouth that he shouldn't, pulling the cat's tail, falling off a chair...the list goes on).

My Face When I hear/see someone say that the 2005 P&P is better...also, when I see things like this:
(Shy??? Mr. Darcy??? No! To be sure, he does not posses the talent of conversing easily with people, but he IS proud, and NOT shy!!!)(I mean, he (as in the real Mr. Darcy, not the above pictured) overcame a lot of his pride, but he certainly had it. I mean, Pride and Prejudice!!!)
(Anyway...that was rather off-topic...sorry...)

When I take half an hour to do a PreCalculus problem and I'm quite sure I'll get it wrong and I actually get it right...and I'm to exhausted (mentally) to do anything but the above--in relief.

My Face When one of my friends tells me another terrible thing that has happened to them.

(Note: Anne's face is My Face)
My Face When I'm looking at a cute guy and then see that he's looking at me, too. (Really, Rae? You look at cute guys? Weird.)

Anne's Face: My Face When one of my friends says something funny in Sunday School under their breath and I'm the only one to catch it so I look at them and laugh.
Diana's Face: Actually, same.
Gilbert's Face: My face when two of my other friends are doing the above and I've been paying attention, so I don't know what's going on.

(Note: Gilbert's face is My Face)
My Face When one of my siblings acts like they're going to do something (like hit me (with a notebook, over the head)) and I don't think they'll actually do it, and then they do it anyway. Now I'm just watching Gil's face over and over and over again because it's awesome. :)

My Face When my friend can't come to my party (when she helped plan it and everything) because she has to play for a football game. (Okay, yes, that was super specific and that actually happened. Just imagine an equivalent, okay? :)

My Face When I suddenly see a spider and freeze.

Gilbert's Face: My Face When I'm doing schoolwork in the library and someone makes a very strange noise while laughing and I look at them and, well, do Gilbert's face. :)
Anne's Face: My Face When I'm right and my sibling is wrong, and it was proved by Google so there's no arguing now.

Anne's Face: My Face When I'm looking at a cute boy and he looks at me...(Yep, same as the last time Anne's face was like that. Rae, get more creative, for pity's sake.)
Gilbert's Face: My Face When I've been too bossy during homeschool choir practice to the little kids and I need to reassure them that I'm not actually mean.
(I'm slowly falling more in love with Gilbert as I watch this GIF play over and over and over again...I need to stop doing this...)

My Face When  my little sister leaves me to sit with someone else.

My Face When someone compliments my hair...which, thanks to Pinterest, often actually looks decent (not to brag).

My Face When someone insults homeschool, L. M. Montgomery, Jane Austen, Mormons, my siblings, or my friends.

Anne's Face: My Face When I am purposely ignoring the rude, ignorant boys who sit to the side and back of me in History class, and I'm showing them that I'm superior (no, they're not like Gilbert. They cuss and stuff, and it's more than "What in the heck are you doing?" which Gilbert did not say, and never would say, in the book.)
Gilbert's Face: My Face When I try to interrupt someone when they take a breath but they keep talking--and louder than before, to keep me quiet. :)

My Face When one of my favourite characters died...but I expected them to. :(

My Face When someone pays me a compliment and I'm not sure what to do with it. "Uh, thanks." With that kind of half-smile that Marilla has. :)

My Face When I saw that there was going to be an Anne of Green Gables Week.

There, I hope you all enjoyed that! :) Have a lovely day!
